Connecting Communities Through Resilient Mesh Communication

What is SIMNet?

SIMNet (Southern Indiana Mesh Network) is a grassroots community group dedicated to promoting the use of open-source mesh communication technologies—like Meshtastic—to help build a more resilient, decentralized communication infrastructure across Southern Indiana.

We advocate for the setup and expansion of LoRa-based mesh nodes to enable off-grid, low-power messaging that works without cellular, internet, or power. Our goal is to support communities with a free, volunteer-driven communication option that can operate during emergencies, support local events, and empower rural or underserved areas.

By educating the public, hosting nodes, and collaborating with local partners, SIMNet aims to strengthen neighborhood preparedness and connectivity—one node at a time.
